There are 10 categories within the Fi Europe Innovation Awards 2017 contest.

1. Sustainability Champion Award

This awards an organisation or company for a measurable sustainability strategy that champions environmental or social sustainability in the F&B industry. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

2. Future of Nutrition Award

This awards an organisation or company for pioneering open innovation by contributing to an environment that supports and nurtures progressive ideas likely to change the face of the F&B industry in the long term (beyond 5 years). Entry for this award is not limited to companies exhibiting at Fi Europe 2017.

3. Organic Champion Award

This awards an organisation or company for promotion of the organic category through marketing, improvement of traceability, growth of product lines or any other innovative ways of raising awareness and availability of organic products in the F&B industry. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

4. Clean label & Natural Innovation Award

This awards an organisation or company that has developed the best clean label ingredient or process with equal functionality to a synthetic ingredient within the last two years. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

5. Life Stages Innovation Award

This awards an organisation or company for the proven effectiveness of an ingredient or application that best promotes or supports health at one or more of the life stages from conception to old age. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

6. Performance Nutrition Innovation Award

This awards an organisation or company for the proven effectiveness of a product that best promotes or supports an active lifestyle. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

7. Growth Categories Innovation Award

This awards an organisation or company that has developed a high impact innovative product within the last two years for application in any of the following fast-growing categories in the F&B Industry: Protein, Dairy, Bakery, Beverages, Confectionery. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

8. Reduction & Reformulation Innovation Award

This awards an organisation or company that has developed the best solution (natural or synthetic) within the last two years for reducing salt, sugar or fat whilst maintaining flavour, texture and functionality of the ingredient replaced. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

9. Expo FoodTec Innovation Award

This awards an organisation or company for developing high-tech/advanced technology or machinery for food ingredients processing or packaging. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.

10. Workforce Equality Award

This awards an organisation or company for creating a work environment that offers equal opportunities for all employees irrespective of their gender, race, religious background, sexual orientation, and physical or mental ability. Entry is only open to exhibitors of Fi Europe 2017.
